Shining Path was a Maoist revolutionary group in Peru.
Beginning in 1980, it used:
- bombings
- assassinations
- terror against civilians
Its goal was to overthrow the Peruvian government and replace it with a communist regime.
Danger
Shining Path caused an estimated 37,000 deaths.
It was led by Abimael Guzman.
