World Revolution

World revolution was the belief that workers around the world would eventually overthrow capitalism.

This idea grew out of the Bolshevik Revolution and Soviet ideology.
It made Western countries fear that communism would spread across borders.

Because of this fear, the United States adopted Containment and later announced the Truman Doctrine.
