Yom Kippur War

The Yom Kippur War took place in 1973, when Egypt and Syria launched a surprise attack on Israel.

Israel ultimately repelled the invasion.

Note

The war showed that the Arab-Israeli conflict remained unresolved even after earlier wars such as the Six-Day War.

It also helped create pressure for later diplomacy, including the Camp David Accords.
