Red Guards
The Red Guards were groups of radical student revolutionaries mobilized by Mao during the Cultural Revolution.
They were ordered to:
- seize officials and teachers
- publicly humiliate critics
- send people to the countryside for reeducation

Their activities helped Mao destroy opposition and spread fear across Chinese society.
