Camp David Accords
The Camp David Accords were a peace agreement negotiated in 1978 and followed by the 1979 Egypt-Israel peace treaty.
They were mediated by U.S. President Jimmy Carter between:
- Menachem Begin of Israel
- Anwar Sadat of Egypt
Important
Camp David marked a major diplomatic breakthrough between Israel and Egypt.
However, many Palestinians and several Arab states rejected the agreement because it did not resolve key Palestinian demands.
